Hands On With the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity
by Anand Lal Shimpi on February 27, 2012 7:57 AM ESTEarlier today we published the specs and a first look at ASUS' Transformer Pad Infinity, a 10.1-inch Android 4.0 tablet with a 1920 x 1200 Super IPS+ display. As a recap, the Infinity is ASUS' new high-end tablet slotting in above the Transformer Prime. On the opposite end of the spectrum is the newly announced Transformer Pad 300, which takes the place of the original Eee Pad Transformer in the sub-$500 market.
Shortly after ASUS' MWC press conference we spent some time with the LTE version of the TF Pad Infinity. The LTE version uses Qualcomm's dual-core MSM8960 (Krait) instead of NVIDIA's quad-core Tegra 3. Armed with more memory bandwidth we were curious to see how the SoC handled the increased demands of the higher resolution screen. The UI was still fairly smooth but it's clear that the software is very early.
The display itself looked extremely sharp, something we noticed back at CES as well when the tablet was simply known by its model number: TF700T. Check out the gallery below for some shots of the Infinity.

Though probably the tablet I would be closest to buying in the current market, I'm still holding out for a windows tablet.Can't wait for a full on review of this tablet.
Actually if the price is right I might just pull the trigger for this one rather than wait for Win 8 tablets.

I think them releasing the Prime and then this so quickly after is dissapointing. I have a prime and actually like it and have no problems - but if this was out at the same time I would have of course preferred and purchased this :(At least the only differences are the plastic on the back and the screen...neither is too huge for me

You will be very disappointed to know that in 10 months there will be much better tablet than yours and in 20 years there will be a tablet that will blow your current tablet away!Just suck it up!

That screen would do 10x more good in a 10.1" laptop.Please let this DPI "revolution" bleed out to regular computer monitors faster...

Find a used IBM T221 - 3840x2400 or 4x 1920x2400. Of course you won't get 120hz or even 60hz - its a 48hz monitor.extide - Monday, February 27, 2012 - link

Saw these 13.3" laptops in the Sony Store...1080p resolution and they looked good. Bad news was Sony's crazy prices.....$2K for something w/ a fixed 4GB of memory ??? :-P
