Dropbox Releases App for Windows Phone

Late last year Dropbox announced that they had entered into a partnership with Microsoft. When this partnership was announced, the first benefit that it brought to consumers was Dropbox integration in Microsoft Office. This allowed users to choose between using Dropbox or Skydrive as a medium for storing all of their documents in the cloud.
Today Dropbox announced the next step in this partnership with the launch of an official Dropbox application for Windows Phone. This completes support for Dropbox on devices in the Microsoft ecosystem, with a Modern UI application for Windows PCs and tablets having been available since the beginning of 2013. It has definitely taken a while for it to move to mobile, but it's good to see another developer making apps for Windows Phone. The app is available for any users running Windows Phone 8.0 and above, and includes all the features you'd expect from Dropbox, as well as some Windows specific abilities like pinning Dropbox folders as Start Screen tiles.

I just recently got a windows phone because i'm a cheapskate. I was bummed when i could only find 3rd party dropbox apps. this is great news! I have been shocked at how nice it works. Compared to a similarly priced android it crushes it.oyabun - Thursday, January 22, 2015 - link
You should try the chinese 130$ android phones. I went from a Galaxy S3 to a UMI C1 (not current model) just for a short while (had to take my S3 in for service) and ended up benching the S3! Well let's just say, when Cricket had the Moto G LTE for $50 vs. a free to $50 Lumia low end phone...There is no comparison whatsoever.

It`s more about people with dropbox commitment of some sort being on edge of jumping to WP. Personally I prefer native MS services, especially after Google turned gmail from good service into unusable shit all by itself.Ktracho - Thursday, January 22, 2015 - link
Dropbox is one of the few services that provides a Linux client, which I use at work along with Windows, so it now has me covered on all the platforms I use. Too bad the amount of free storage is so limited.
